Devon & Cornwall - Caravanning & Camping....

Stop Press: Bank Holiday Weekend weather sunny & warm! We headed down to Devon (to Dot's caravan first) on the Friday evening - leaving at 8ish meant we missed the worst of the traffic, and got down to the caravan at Tavistock, South Devon with just enough time left for a glass of vino before bed!
It was straight into action Saturday morning as Elsepth & Fraser were demanding their customary trip to the on-site pool on the caravan / camp site at Woodovis. That completed, we were all back into the car to head down to the North coast of Cornwall - Widemouth Bay near Bude, where we met up with Sara & Richard (and Gwen & Issy) at Cathy's holiday home. Cathy wasn't there as Arthur had a bug, so it was Richard and Matthew at that stage. We pitched the tents in the garden (rather better than in last year's typhoon!), and got down to the serious business of fish & chips!
We then had a couple of great days with good weather on the beach and generally having a brilliant time. You may notice a slight rosiness in Elspeth's cheeks towards the end - which we put down to the sun, but with hindsight was actually scarlet fever - not that we realised until the following weekend!
We then headed back up to the caravan for another night, before getting back up to Bristol, absolutely worn out on the Tuesday night. A really great weekend though......
