Hi Folks. We are just back from a week in St Jean d'Aulps, near Morzine in France. We had a great week along with Helen's friend from school Becci, along with her bloke Tom and their two boys Harrison & Lawson. The weather was brilliant (for me!) - new snow every day from Tues onwards and really cold - -11* and colder during the day. We had to really wrap the kids up for their lessons, but apart from some chilly fingers and toes by the end, they were fine. Elspeth was really chuffed to conquer the long difficult button lift, as well as the chairlifts and a couple of the red runs in what was her second week skiing. Fraser's first week went well too, with him getting to snowploughing and doing the small and medium nursery lifts on his own. Helen's mum, Dot, cam too and was great help looking after Charlie in the mornings mostly, so we could meet up for lunch and do stuff in the afternoons. At the end you can see the kids getting their medals from the instructor Sylvain, and Fraser from Piou-Piou, the French ski school mascot! There is also a blueish photo of 3 of my fresh tracks (if you click on it & enlarge & squint!) - one of the real bonuses of this resort is that it's so quiet no-one else was skiing the powder, and those 3 tracks were still there at the end of the day for Tom and me to go and do some more - fantastic (if you like that kind of thing - which I do!). Bring on next year!
